Project

Bush Creek

As a committed community partner in the Chesapeake Bay region, EPR is working diligently with our clients to address water quality issues and do our part to help improve the Bay. The restoration of approximately 2,500 feet of Bush Creek in New Market, MD is a great example. EPR worked with the Client to restore a badly degraded stream system and reduce sediment and nutrient outputs to streams entering the Bay. The project incorporated a Natural Channel Design and Floodplain Connection design approach that provides stream stability and enhances floodplain habitats through frequent inundation, storage, and attenuation of flood flows. To ensure the floodplain enhancement design objective was met, EPR conducted HEC-RAS 1D and 2D modeling.
